Hello Again🖤

Hey 👋

I thought since whatnotz has grown a bit it was time to give a little re-introduction on the blog about myself and the brand✨

So for those of you who don't know me, my name is Stephanie and I'm the owner of whatnotz- here are 5 fun facts about me🖤

  1. I'm a little camera shy📸
  2. My hometown is Montreal and my first language is French 🇨🇦
  3. I was a yoga teacher🧘‍♂️
  4. When I was a teenager my mum cut my hair so short that people thought I was a boy, I wasn't too pleased about that🙈
  5. After living in Barbados for 15 years, I can finally say 'iza Bajan' - that's right, ya girl is officially a Bajan immigrant🇧🇧

Now a bit about the brand...

whatnotz was founded on the idea that jewelry should be more than just an accessory. Our jewelry is created to be an extension of the beautiful people wearing it. I believe It should be timeless, affordable, and ethical.

More than just basics, whatnotz is a minimal, timeless take on souvenir jewelry as well as our new everyday essentials that complement each and every piece. Tell your story from many corners of the world with our signature map collections. Featuring our Geo Bim Necklace, Mini Disc Necklace and the I ❤️ Bim Choker all in 18K Gold Vermeil.

Each collection is designed for the modern woman and man in mind as easy to wear everyday pieces. Each piece is a labour of love meant to enhance your glow. The everyday essentials collection launched in 2020 has grown since to include necklaces and earrings that are classic & timeless.

I do believe environmental and social responsibility is the way forward. So being a more  ethical brand is important to me as a designer and I'm proud to say that over 40% of our production is now made using recycled silver as our base metal, same quality but less harm to our planet 🌎

Our packaging is also environmentally friendly - I get asked all the time why I don't use boxes and the answer is always the same... because I'd rather use materials that are good for our planet while sticking with our accessible price 💚 I'll also be launching the new packaging soon, so stay tuned for this👀

Although each piece comes in a plastic bag, which is actually meant to be used and not tossed... please keep your whatnotz pieces in them when not being worn to prolong the plating properties. All our pieces can be cleaned with warm water and mild soap- we love effortless jewelry around here 😉

We also give you a 100% cotton pouch which is unbleached to keep your jewelry in, not only is it super cute, it's a good travel essential to have. Also for our repeat whatnotz customers, if you have too many (yes, that's a thing🙈) and you wish to have your order delivered without it, just let us know when you place your order in the notes section.

It all starts by opening up the conversation, looking at what needs to change and starting by being the most responsible we can be with ourselves and within our brand. It's a journey I  have decided to embark on and I'm counting on you to join along the way to become better every day.

Connections made from a keepsake of your favourite place 🖤

Everyday I pour my heart and soul into whatnotz to make it as awesome as possible, all this wouldn't be possible without you guys! I hope you enjoyed this little intro blogpost and as always, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out and chat ✨
